I would like to know How can I send text messages from a cell phone to the US while I am in Uruguay while using ancel or movil star without  incurring internationional fees or costs, and vice versa How can I send text messages to someone in Uruguay without cost.  Do you know if there is an internet website to send text messages to ancel or movil star cellphones from the US or to send text messages from Uruguay to the US at no charge.

The only one I know is http://www.vtext.com. It's to send text messages to Verizon cell phone customers in the US. You can also send Verizon customers a text message by sending an email to phonenumber@vtext.com. Not sure about other carriers.

We don't have cell phones in Uruguay, so I'm not sure about the local carriers.

I have ANCEL, and I can text my friend's Cell in the UK at the same $1 peso fee. I believe it is the same for the US, all you need to do is add the international country or area code to the number, my friend's in london is 0047 something.
